Pressure interceptor

 In air conditioning systems for towers or skyscrapers, the static head water creates a pressure that is greater than the tolerance of the chiller condenser, air conditioning units, pipes, valves, pumps, and etc. In this case, in order to maintain the pressure at an acceptable level, the circuit is divided into two parts using a circuit plate heat exchanger.
Depending on the height of the tower, several plate heat exchangers may be used as pressure dividers. In cooling systems, not wasting cold is very important. Close approach or low approach temperature, which is one of the prominent features of TGT Co. plate heat exchangers. This means that virtually all cold are transmitted to the upper floors with the least casualties.

Advantages of using plate heat exchangers for Pressure interceptor:
One of the major advantages of this method is the design of the entire Chilled Water system for low pressure, for example 10 bar (15 psig). This means cost savings in chillers as well as selection of air handling equipment and other system equipment. Instead of using multiple chillers in the building, you can use one chiller and several interceptor   plate   heat exchangers on different floors. This has a positive effect on the design of the building:
• Plate heat exchangers are very compact and require the usual height of the room (less than three meters) and one third of the required area of the chiller with equal capacity. This makes them easy to install even in buildings with limited space.
• It has no vibration or noise. This saves the owner money because she/he (owner) can rent the rest of the floor space without disturbing the tenants.
•Plate heat exchangers generally do not require any maintenance, except for a gasket replacement program that must be performed every 10 to 12 years.
